My name is Aaron Sawyer and I am a Web Developer with over 10 years of experience in web development and over 5 years of experience developing in an intense advertising agency environment. I enjoy making my clients' projects come to life in the digital age. My platforms have included Ektron, Drupal, Wordpress, PHP, C#, ASP.NET, Node.js and others. I have a deep knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery as well as backend server management experience.

In January 2015, I became the acting Senior Developer at BCF, an advertising agency based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia. In July of 2017, I joined Marathon, a development-oriented company in Virginia Beach.

I attended College of the Albemarle (COA) in Elizabeth City, North Carolina and earned my Associate's Degree in Computer Programming. I then transferred to East Carolina University and graduated with a degree in Industrial Technology - a degree which largely centered on computer networking.

My hobbies include hiking, biking, video games, weight lifting, and video game modification.

VisitVirginiaBeach.com is the main tourism website for the City of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

  • Role as Lead Developer, built the backend structure on Ektron, ASP.net, C#
  • Worked with development team, designers, and artists to bring the site to life
  • Built a custom form reporting system which gathers data over a time period and aggregates resuts
  • Built custom ajax-powered widgets which aggregate CMS data
  • Built the listing administration portal which powers the site events and businesses
  • Handled maintenance and SEO tasks after the site build

This was a multisite Drupal-powered system with dynamic site creation capabilities

  • Role as Lead Developer, built the backend structure on Drupal for 5 websites
  • Managed three other developers during the build process, coordinated work and coding
  • Site System utilizes drush and Drupal multisite, providing powerful site management capabilities
  • Created custom portal for site management

  • As sole Developer, built the backend structure on ASP.net and C#
  • Site System integrates into existing Ektron website
  • Created custom user portal and administration portal, features role-based access

This was a sitelet built from the ground up.

  • Role as sole Developer, built upon a ASP.NET/C#/JQuery architecture
  • Site utilizes AJAX for all capabilties
  • Features CSS3 transitions, file upload, image resizing, cropping, video filters, and placement from within browser.
  • Features category tagging, and display of content based on category selected
